The Ilocano or Ilokano people are the third largest Filipino ethnoliguistic group. Aside from being referred to as Ilocano's, from "I" which means from and "Looc" that means bay , they also refer themselves as "Samtoy", from the Ilocano phrase "sao mi ditoy", means our anguage origin. The word "Ilocano" came from the word "Iloco" and  "Yloco" .
