Ilocano's may have evolved and gone with the different flow of nature, but it's not a reason to let it go together with the wind. A tribe like this should be treasured and must manifest.

Superstitious beliefs, spiritual relationship and the Ilocano manner's remained to be the what's, and whereabouts of people that does not belong to this group."In whom do they believe in?", "Why are they believing those sayings?", and "Are Ilocano's really "Kuripot"? ";these questions are the common inquiry that floats into their minds when they heard "ILOCANO".Ilocano's have similarities, their attitudes, perceptions in life, beliefs and Faith because they do belong to one specific tribe-The Ilocano's but some may differ according to the place where they came from; still the culture and traditions remained to be in tacked.

Stephanie: What are the common attitudes that Ilocano's have?

Uncle Rommel: Giving, it is common to all Ilocano's to be kind, they love God. They are also brave. Did you know that whatever they say that we are "Kuripot", that is not true 'cause we, Ilocano's; whenever we cook foods or viands, we always share it with our neighbors. All I can say about the manners of Ilocano  is that they are Kind.

Stephanie: So, let's talk about the spiritual relationship of Ilocano's. In those times that God was not yet widely spread here in our country, the people have no idea about the One who created all things, in whom do they believe in?

Uncle Rommel: In the beginning, where the Spaniards colonized us. The very first religion that we have is Catholic that was brought by these Spaniards wherein we put our full trust on the relics or saints that they have but basing it to the Bible in the ten commandments ,it is written there that We must not worship idols. But still in our times, most people believed on this idols because of different religions such as Born Again. Catholic, and Mormons.

Stephanie: We all know that Ilocano's have a lot of superstitious beliefs and these beliefs are serving to be their basis on how their daily lives would be. So, what can you say abut this?

Uncle Rommel: Beliefs are sayings of the elders. So what can I say is its improper because if  basing on the Faith in God , there is no connection. For example, you're not allowed to go and sweep outside the house at late afternoon, 'cause luck will be thrown away or swept away. What if your house is unclean, are you going to let it just the same? Am I right?  It's not appropriate, right? . So for me, I'll still hold onto the words o the Lord to be my guide in my life.

The Ilocano or Ilokano people are the third largest Filipino ethnoliguistic group. Aside from being referred to as Ilocano's, from "I" which means from and "Looc" that means bay , they also refer themselves as "Samtoy", from the Ilocano phrase "sao mi ditoy", means our anguage origin. The word "Ilocano" came from the word "Iloco" and  "Yloco" .
